Plan August With Me!

Image
I know that is actually 9 days into August, but I thought that I would post my bullet journal set up for August on my blogger too, however, for more content you can always check on my studyblr! < https://shikastudies.tumblr.com/ > Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy my August bullet journal! August which is the initial starting of the fall months, pumpkin spice, and school! Although the month, ends in a dreary mood, I decided to not focus on any negative or mundane that you see in literally everyone’s fall journal. So I did a french leaves theme, last November/December many of my friends went on this French foreign exchange trip and they showed me pictures. So I took some of their photos and tried to recreate the tree leaves and then I just googled the leaves after a bit because they were too hard to draw by a blurry picture. So I did a nice french leaf theme this August, and my cover page is just the month in french surrounded by a wreath of France’s beautiful leaves. Then the q...

Things I Wish I Knew Before My Junior Year

Now that I am a senior, I feel overly qualified to tell you tips and little advice that you should know before you stumble into your junior year of high school. Disclaimer: These will not apply to everybody because we all work in weird ways, so if these don’t apply/work for you. Do not fret, trust your gut instincts and your mother. 1.)  Plan Ahead:  Standardized Tests, as much as I abhor these tests, please do study for them. I, for some reason that I am not able to explain, took my first and last SAT in June and then a week later took my second ACT. On top of all that, I just started my summer physics course, not a smart idea. Know when you are ready to take the tests and plan them apart with your schedule! Everything looks fine two weeks before but then when that dreaded AP/state testing week comes by, you'll forget anything and everything.  2.)  Here lie your true friends:  After all the stress and exhaustion junior year places on your inner circle of f...

Night Before An Exam!

My AP Exams are the next three days: AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, and AP Language and Competition. So I am definitely going to be following some of these tips to a T. So relax and don’t stress or try to cram because the night before a test, there is nothing new that you will be able to learn for the next day.  Disclaimer:  These tips won’t work for everyone but they might help slightly. 1. Know What You Need:  You’re going to need different items for different exams, such as my Biology and Calculus exams, I will be needing a TI-84 calculator. However, for all of my exams, I will be needing a black or blue ink pen for my free responses. Know if you need your ID, pens/pencil, calculator, dictionary, etc. 2. DON’T CRAM:  Cramming will not get you anywhere, in fact, you’ll be more likely to mix up facts. So you can revise what you have already learned but there’s no way that you’re going to be able to fully comprehend and understand a topic. Don’t attempt to learn a ...

Plan The New Month With Me

Image
Welcome, everyone! Happy February! I know that when this goes up, it'll be well into February, but I am just using this as a basis to get everyone motivated to either plan your month to the dot or just simply get an idea of what your month will look like. How I do this is two different methods, one is a bullet journal and the other is a planner from Plan Ahead . (not sponsored) Why?: When looking at your month in a bigger view, it gives you time to think and plan ahead of time yet also it's just another way that you're going to be able to look back and be like, "Wow I did a lot this month." Personally, I don't like when a planner gives you daily and weekly layouts, so I ripped all the weekly/daily pages out of my planner. Just so that I am able to have a wider view, plus it has enough space in the boxes to the point where I can say Chapter 28 is due, Cell Signalling Test, and Photosynthesis Lab today all in the same box! How?: I had a bullet journal ab...

Beginning Steps to Productivity

Being productive can be very hard because of all of life's daily distractions whether it's your dog, your annoyingly loud sibling, or your phone because let's be real, we're addicted. So when trying to study or do work, it's harder to focus so I have a couple of tricks and tips in order to start the New Year and a new semester off with a bang! As the old saying goes "New Year, New Me"!  Locations:  Where do you study has a big impact on how you study, so wherever you are studying at a coffee shop, friends house, library, or your room. Try to stay far away from a bed if you're truly trying to retain and comprehend information. If you study in groups, make sure your group is small, personally, I'd say no bigger than 5 people depending on the topic such as if there's an English essay, you and your friends can discuss what to write about and review each other's essay, so 5 people are okay for that type of environment. For math and sci...

Apps/Websites for Studying and School

Image
Hey guys! So with school halfway done with the first semester, we need apps that we can use to organize, study, and focus so that we can be successful this school year! So I have compiled a list of my favorite apps/ websites that I use whether it's for studying for school, organizing my life in general, or just to track habits. 1. Quizlet This app is a way for students to learn any quick facts for school, which can help with English vocab, learning structures in a cell, or even just a foreign language verbs. This is a site where you can create and find flashcards that can help with your studies. Teachers can even use the Quizlet Live which is a game that challenges students memories in order to give a fun, lively, and collaborative activity to bring the students to challenge themselves and each other. Overall. this is such a great way to test yourself on the basis of reconnection of pictures to words or words to the definition. 2. Toggl Toggl is...
