Apps/Websites for Studying and School

Hey guys! So with school halfway done with the first semester, we need apps that we can use to organize, study, and focus so that we can be successful this school year! So I have compiled a list of my favorite apps/ websites that I use whether it's for studying for school, organizing my life in general, or just to track habits.

1. Quizlet

This app is a way for students to learn any quick facts for school, which can help with English vocab, learning structures in a cell, or even just a foreign language verbs. This is a site where you can create and find flashcards that can help with your studies. Teachers can even use the Quizlet Live which is a game that challenges students memories in order to give a fun, lively, and collaborative activity to bring the students to challenge themselves and each other. Overall. this is such a great way to test yourself on the basis of reconnection of pictures to words or words to the definition.

2. Toggl

Toggl is a time tracking website and app that shows how much time you spend on different tasks throughout your day. This website can track how much time you're spending on everyday simple tasks, such as science project, to English book reading assignment. This has been such a great help when it comes down to managing time because sometimes I just get caught up replying to a text or referencing a quote and end up rereading the whole book. This app shows you how much time you're spending on tasks, so you realize how you could be spending the excess time you have if you were being efficient. This app is available for free on both IOS and on the Google Play store.

3. Rainy Mood

I'm not sure about any of you, but my house is somewhat busy because in the home office my dad is working, in the living room my brother is studying, and in the kitchen, my mum is cooking or doing something for her job. Since I have a hard time focusing when everyone is bustling around in the house, I like to use this website which allows me to just hear a constant drip pattern which is soothing and just gives you a consistent background noise without any interruptions. This is definitely a lifesaver around mid-terms and finals because I can concentrate so much easier. It is available on IOS and Google Play however on Google Play you have to pay but you can always use the Lite version of this app. This is a great website if you're trying to stay away from distracting noises.

4. Momentum

Momentum is a personal dashboard designed to eliminate distractions and provide inspiration, focus, and productivity. It's a homepage replacement for Chrome or FireFox that is intended to inspire and focus you throughout your work/school day. The site will great you by your name such as, "Good Morning, Shika" with an inspiring and motivational background photo as well as a quote along with the weather and the time. This is such a great extension on Chrome that really helps me sort out anything that I might need to do over either a long period of time or when I'm under that Sunday homework time crunch.

5. ToDoList

ToDoList is just your basic app where you can make a list of things you have to do, like when it's Sunday and you have tons of homework before you get started. All you have to do is just really quickly type everything and there's just a reminder for you that you have been completing these tasks and then you just swipe to the right to dismiss the tasks acknowledging that you have completed the task. You can also adjust the timing of the event, to push it to remind you later before the due date.

6. Tide

Tide is a free app on both the App Store and Google Play Store which focuses on sleep, meditation, relaxing, and focusing. Tide one of the best apps in order to guide you to have a happy mind and body both working together to help you relax, focus and sleep better. Tide uses sounds of nature to help you keep focused, reduce your stress and anxiety levels, as well as using the Pomodoro method to keep you in check.
